106 Materials, Processes, and Welding

This course familiarizes the student with popular non-destructive testing methods, aircraft paint and refinishing systems, and the basics of aircraft welding including gas, mig, tig, and arc welding.

This course is designed to develop skills in the selection and identity of aircraft hardware and cleaning materials. Inspection, treatment and prevention of corrosion are emphasized. Precision measurements, repairs by welding and inspection by non-destructive testing, are practiced.
